Not every day is a happy day in my house. In fact, some (most?) days are a combination of love and messiness and chaos. But then it all comes together in the triumph of getting everyone around the dinner table -- only to find that we're all too tired to talk to each other. Yeah, that's kind of my life.<br />
<br />
But sometimes you stop and take a breath and you realize that even your messiest and most chaotic days are sort of beautiful. Or you find little moments of sweetness mixed in with the eye-rolls and heaps of laundry and sibling rivalry. I'm learning to embrace those moments.<br />
<br />
They'll be gone before I know it.<br />
<br />
Just like this girl, who is growing up way too fast. But she's learning the same lessons -- to hang onto those awesome moments of light and clarity when they happen. And if that's all she learns from her mama...well, I guess I haven't totally failed.<br />
<br />

I haven't posted in ages. I've thought about it. People have encouraged me to do it. But life gets busy...and stays busy.<br />
<br />
I've never stopped playing in my craft room. And yes, there is still a craft room. Still filled with supplies and inspiration. Still my favorite place to escape for a few hours (when I have them).<br />
<br />
My current obsession is bible journaling. (Me and everyone else in the scrapbooking world, apparently.) Hello, Bandwagon! Why, sure, I'll jump right on!<br />
<br />
It works for me for so many reasons, but the main one is: it reminds me to stop and think. Finding a verse that speaks to whatever I happen to be struggling with, then turning it into art -- well, that's just about the most perfect way to relax in the history of EVER!<br />
<br />
Here are a few of my favorite pages: <br />

<br />
I'm pretty compulsive about not covering up the words. But I'm finding all these wonderful transparent chalks and watercolors that don't obscure anything, so once in a while I'll experiment a little like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaGJShAANpOFuoJj6edUjzoK_a6f5S1UIKlVCulUk_MxZPcPSs23dE406zAusq11zmLJf6br3wHCVVW_-CVo1Cthggc8igJcCF68c3rPANMsjzTMG8BbjEOsfbaoEVaUogX4TS80KU69c/s1600/IMG_4165.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaGJShAANpOFuoJj6edUjzoK_a6f5S1UIKlVCulUk_MxZPcPSs23dE406zAusq11zmLJf6br3wHCVVW_-CVo1Cthggc8igJcCF68c3rPANMsjzTMG8BbjEOsfbaoEVaUogX4TS80KU69c/s320/IMG_4165.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's the front of my bible. I gave it some personality...but not too much. (As in: not so much that the old lady sitting next to me in church will need to pray extra for me.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsVUKwCNHDOnkG_8M0TRWZSje2Ho1n2zWDFOY0PLVzE2gZOnHrNpiOr99mT0B40TNWr7_sLKj7kOTTSLEebNFuMr5LWAU7Bm3HPg9VkaNAmFu255KXhcVrRXcjQ-UH-3M-_9KOVBrYCCc/s1600/bible.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsVUKwCNHDOnkG_8M0TRWZSje2Ho1n2zWDFOY0PLVzE2gZOnHrNpiOr99mT0B40TNWr7_sLKj7kOTTSLEebNFuMr5LWAU7Bm3HPg9VkaNAmFu255KXhcVrRXcjQ-UH-3M-_9KOVBrYCCc/s320/bible.jpg" width="259" /></a></div>
<br />
And that concludes my show and tell for today. I'll try not to wait quite so long before the next one. Stay tuned!<br />

If you've been to <a href="http://thelittlebluehouseblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">The Little Blue House blog</a>, you've already seen some of the fabulous projects created with this kit. And today, I'm sharing what I made:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixjABLy1DwMhNGIs9d5R2RFrERw3IFU7AzXt4Eru30GNOaUsAKZBE4fJeYkGYb-P3tul7A-xTg7Gpx0kLIMcPSdX5vT7rbLtK2vtm_N_UGPrPSbJqZe_qnBpu3vpiay7L8lbrwG6vf9W8/s1600/rschaub-doublelayout-1200px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixjABLy1DwMhNGIs9d5R2RFrERw3IFU7AzXt4Eru30GNOaUsAKZBE4fJeYkGYb-P3tul7A-xTg7Gpx0kLIMcPSdX5vT7rbLtK2vtm_N_UGPrPSbJqZe_qnBpu3vpiay7L8lbrwG6vf9W8/s1600/rschaub-doublelayout-1200px.jpg" height="164" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Jumping on the paper-pieced-chevron bandwagon with this one, but all the fabric-inspired patterns in the papers just made me want to quilt them together. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzovopQ9vGIgEJC1WpW0zGefYCuLU7_3aIurZ3GsWn6x6f1xs99bF-iiXN6Z6Tsa4U_Fm9jSWbMRljL5U4I3FvzlMROPvA3lA4HWYyuy_BJ-24b6JCj-dY-9dzWYiSH9zUb2f9wXqzo2g/s1600/rschaub-doublelayout-detail1-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzovopQ9vGIgEJC1WpW0zGefYCuLU7_3aIurZ3GsWn6x6f1xs99bF-iiXN6Z6Tsa4U_Fm9jSWbMRljL5U4I3FvzlMROPvA3lA4HWYyuy_BJ-24b6JCj-dY-9dzWYiSH9zUb2f9wXqzo2g/s1600/rschaub-doublelayout-detail1-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's another layout I created using black cardstock with Color Shine mist in Gold Lame' to add a little sparkle.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCGQVO40K6xJxJPnPDl2IjgWNwQJricQkkrgT3mEXoAPdiH-9qTzZJhNhpnlK-iBz7-7hqmMk3uKko3eM8xuyBCC73iDyZwGfaxxgMPCgTcmpVWdtbyacIf7P9Jjfq3MvICIYA2JfAlT4/s1600/rschaub-happylayout-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCGQVO40K6xJxJPnPDl2IjgWNwQJricQkkrgT3mEXoAPdiH-9qTzZJhNhpnlK-iBz7-7hqmMk3uKko3eM8xuyBCC73iDyZwGfaxxgMPCgTcmpVWdtbyacIf7P9Jjfq3MvICIYA2JfAlT4/s1600/rschaub-happylayout-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Lots of layers on this banner, plus a bow I tied out of fabric scraps on each end. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4tKx2uPYDBrL1566OMnloVYeSpPQwDeUx95if11h26tGhgyY4481ZcYMEfxvJW1a5ybT1YUafNtLsBGtrqIcWH-AqEALOnJiVaz4cft2wTIWgkKyVEZNJLuBFaPMrtadAKcWkFu7H1oE/s1600/rschaub-happylayout-detail2-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4tKx2uPYDBrL1566OMnloVYeSpPQwDeUx95if11h26tGhgyY4481ZcYMEfxvJW1a5ybT1YUafNtLsBGtrqIcWH-AqEALOnJiVaz4cft2wTIWgkKyVEZNJLuBFaPMrtadAKcWkFu7H1oE/s1600/rschaub-happylayout-detail2-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ9z_PWXNpMlO2RDKNiy74mumFgkYZj5Fpiw27Xq2DCsuwbBROKFbDQk_6loQWo44dWS6-Ko3nlQDuNxpTASRtG2wu5Kt7h6YGsQdsnTs2GAP1muxpj5IePsnbqTOLvsyqocqoCeua6r8/s1600/rschaub-happylayout-detail-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ9z_PWXNpMlO2RDKNiy74mumFgkYZj5Fpiw27Xq2DCsuwbBROKFbDQk_6loQWo44dWS6-Ko3nlQDuNxpTASRtG2wu5Kt7h6YGsQdsnTs2GAP1muxpj5IePsnbqTOLvsyqocqoCeua6r8/s1600/rschaub-happylayout-detail-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I think this one's my favorite. There are two pieces of 6x6 black chipboard in the kit and I used mine to create a hanging frame. I cut strips from the different metallic papers and lined them up to cover the front of the frame, then I brushed Tattered Angels Stained Glass over the top to give it that pretty pink color.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvaX5ukytydIamUdetVLHd-PqRrlzoKmc5-TTawsws6qKiSD0SSaQvNj6qDc2hYbDU8Hkya80nOm7MUHXje0WmOYxk9pZ2GJkZp9CnggqP7hoROcPXZ_xeyvv54Yz-vvkkMRPcoBZXCcQ/s1600/rschaub-frame-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvaX5ukytydIamUdetVLHd-PqRrlzoKmc5-TTawsws6qKiSD0SSaQvNj6qDc2hYbDU8Hkya80nOm7MUHXje0WmOYxk9pZ2GJkZp9CnggqP7hoROcPXZ_xeyvv54Yz-vvkkMRPcoBZXCcQ/s1600/rschaub-frame-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Finished off with a few embellishments and a stamped sentiment from the stamp set in the kit. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrWFvnMDsPheYHBTfwCG2xc-iAwYUVvXd3X7NQGw5pRlIBcfW6ip6wNDJEuHFv9xlWmFiXSVjPLxdz7Vre8OxasWn_WHbaNnVcyTOqgwwMSgOn5JYwjdHNYkPV3iT5xAEw3EC1blCEcYg/s1600/rschaub-frame-detail-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrWFvnMDsPheYHBTfwCG2xc-iAwYUVvXd3X7NQGw5pRlIBcfW6ip6wNDJEuHFv9xlWmFiXSVjPLxdz7Vre8OxasWn_WHbaNnVcyTOqgwwMSgOn5JYwjdHNYkPV3iT5xAEw3EC1blCEcYg/s1600/rschaub-frame-detail-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Speaking of the stamps, here's a card I created using another one of the stamps:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY8Fvzl4kMlcIRV39-xfDO9lZYig36lz9LJjybg6-i7YJWWDVvQU0oO2u9_HYJmenm-lCJ106j6IZ3_lDgWfj8d0RjbFHmoEUew4QuV8cMplgWb1doS72amRy3xrr8n3UXjc5Au0vZPD4/s1600/rschaub-card-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY8Fvzl4kMlcIRV39-xfDO9lZYig36lz9LJjybg6-i7YJWWDVvQU0oO2u9_HYJmenm-lCJ106j6IZ3_lDgWfj8d0RjbFHmoEUew4QuV8cMplgWb1doS72amRy3xrr8n3UXjc5Au0vZPD4/s1600/rschaub-card-900px.jpg" height="227" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Loved this yarn because it reminded me of the yarn ribbons girls used to wear in their hair when I was little. Easy to tie into a pretty bow.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwtfR99fHRRpAvuRvP8Gjixu87KM5haX-EM5bYl_HRVVXSUi-kqobscaQZXxLJzQ9nrlPRz5vRJoATcQqVq2LOllXScwMMw2kGbJq6OS5A1CXiJ6JkWHpWNtUqtYcdOUkGEBmkWvqOTp4/s1600/rschaub-card-detail-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwtfR99fHRRpAvuRvP8Gjixu87KM5haX-EM5bYl_HRVVXSUi-kqobscaQZXxLJzQ9nrlPRz5vRJoATcQqVq2LOllXScwMMw2kGbJq6OS5A1CXiJ6JkWHpWNtUqtYcdOUkGEBmkWvqOTp4/s1600/rschaub-card-detail-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And finally, there was a 6x12 canvas in the kit. I'll admit it. Canvas kind of intimidates me. I don't pretend to be a painter. I know my limitations. So here's what I did: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhRU9VrJAXlRyGUyxrOsuYsgNBKJlcmtTbKPyp_7zI_Rs2eTMZw8AVcCXYdfsjF-o_oy1BYSaZJYdd0B42ExOJ-cogRbjMu7cJpGrPKm2gy6pSA1JnKTuBPgUxBM3i0kfVpvJpi8sLGos/s1600/rschaub-sparklecanvas-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhRU9VrJAXlRyGUyxrOsuYsgNBKJlcmtTbKPyp_7zI_Rs2eTMZw8AVcCXYdfsjF-o_oy1BYSaZJYdd0B42ExOJ-cogRbjMu7cJpGrPKm2gy6pSA1JnKTuBPgUxBM3i0kfVpvJpi8sLGos/s1600/rschaub-sparklecanvas-900px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I mod-podged scrapbook paper to the canvas. Then I used chipboard letters to spell out the phrase. Then I painted over the whole thing with pink. Once dry, I peeled off the letters and outlined them in black. I used Stickles to fill in the word "sparkle."<br />
<br />
It's not exactly a work of art, but my 7-year-old is begging to display it in her room -- which I think is a perfect spot for it!<br />

<br />
As usual, there are tons of creative papers, embellishments and other materials to inspire you. Check out the <a href="http://thelittlebluehouseblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Little Blue House blog</a> to see all the fabulous goodies that are packed into this kit and leave a comment to win a FREE kit! <br />
<br />
Ready to see what I made?<br />
<br />
First off, a double layout with lots of photos. I don't do that many double layouts, so they're kind of a challenge for me. But the colors in the kit papers all just really worked together...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz6NqBkNi-FYmJ-ptovDb0LG7sqoHOkHH_InklLk16gXbcr54Ch_fiKwN8iAIxy3WAX51Ydtdn85Qm8YUdzI0ZtrT-T-95jjReMUNGMa_m2CRBS0dOxRFeQPcYG5Te_G7cZN7xhgkH3zw/s1600/hometowntourists-1600px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz6NqBkNi-FYmJ-ptovDb0LG7sqoHOkHH_InklLk16gXbcr54Ch_fiKwN8iAIxy3WAX51Ydtdn85Qm8YUdzI0ZtrT-T-95jjReMUNGMa_m2CRBS0dOxRFeQPcYG5Te_G7cZN7xhgkH3zw/s400/hometowntourists-1600px.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I loved the Scrabble tiles and wanted to find a way to incorporate them, so I added our initials inside the slide frames.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWgt5m3E4IbVpag8e_VOdOjUEuVOBOSD1t1IXITdpJ1g-7Cr2k3lnGG0k4fuP6ox0v6xuOqGVoyGlSu64HfkplqUJvTDgW5nvOQyHf0EpGHNpgYOYWL8_4NBlhGu30KQbz3oVN2nlyOB4/s1600/hometown-detail-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWgt5m3E4IbVpag8e_VOdOjUEuVOBOSD1t1IXITdpJ1g-7Cr2k3lnGG0k4fuP6ox0v6xuOqGVoyGlSu64HfkplqUJvTDgW5nvOQyHf0EpGHNpgYOYWL8_4NBlhGu30KQbz3oVN2nlyOB4/s320/hometown-detail-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
There are also some chalkboard embellishments in this kit, including chalk tape, which I used to handwrite part of my title.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiORMNrg3HgvkH9NZY0m6Z3Cs54KSfmzIHGuQ88BD1t_RJ5v7Zc3r5W25ZxKl2pW58w0357YYxgtGrhP4EJJjbotxbrQtZAXwtMiYFx7O2CkGpMZ_EjJOws7pR6bNvt4xEqVp6eOavD8nY/s1600/hometown-detail2-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiORMNrg3HgvkH9NZY0m6Z3Cs54KSfmzIHGuQ88BD1t_RJ5v7Zc3r5W25ZxKl2pW58w0357YYxgtGrhP4EJJjbotxbrQtZAXwtMiYFx7O2CkGpMZ_EjJOws7pR6bNvt4xEqVp6eOavD8nY/s320/hometown-detail2-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1VEmDDK669tWEy5Jk8404p9XQuGe9Z_lVuku2eJVJ6SuqQfQI0g4WBVpkqNSbJ4MULzeLlv4cTcfz0kCD6zrhuQhs-25lwTzYmP2ackIkvwSMTo1XtW4fG9XA4iNMb4d-pCeewB1FWtw/s1600/hometown-detail3-900px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1VEmDDK669tWEy5Jk8404p9XQuGe9Z_lVuku2eJVJ6SuqQfQI0g4WBVpkqNSbJ4MULzeLlv4cTcfz0kCD6zrhuQhs-25lwTzYmP2ackIkvwSMTo1XtW4fG9XA4iNMb4d-pCeewB1FWtw/s320/hometown-detail3-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The surface in this kit is a fun little clipboard from Pebbles (we're calling him Chip!), and I turned it into a wall hanging to show off one of my favorite photos.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNeYYpyU996fme3haGKT46Wv0fP6tXL4qw7UQbJLPyXzD2n4Pd1SpmI2RTbKdPWTIRFFz1HopsP-uRsB2vOgDBwBvm3aye8F071NKOAHIKKPe8rsENTs7-zMutXagH5yok8tMhdlg7xsQ/s1600/clipboard-full-900px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNeYYpyU996fme3haGKT46Wv0fP6tXL4qw7UQbJLPyXzD2n4Pd1SpmI2RTbKdPWTIRFFz1HopsP-uRsB2vOgDBwBvm3aye8F071NKOAHIKKPe8rsENTs7-zMutXagH5yok8tMhdlg7xsQ/s320/clipboard-full-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I added a poker chip and some ribbon to the metal part, and I tore a strip of the fabric in the kit to tie around the bottom.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3vpSNMOxXv2F3ZFBAc9NPs_XCQG1VuwlTjZmORLENp5eEm7fQK5uQNQnrPKAM5EMbpM02_lZw-r6Q7V7CBX_iC8mCwrWvRPFR3ewdnB4ZetGiltrSbTxTVHavp_HRFb73FSVu5L_AuWI/s1600/clipboard-detail-900px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3vpSNMOxXv2F3ZFBAc9NPs_XCQG1VuwlTjZmORLENp5eEm7fQK5uQNQnrPKAM5EMbpM02_lZw-r6Q7V7CBX_iC8mCwrWvRPFR3ewdnB4ZetGiltrSbTxTVHavp_HRFb73FSVu5L_AuWI/s320/clipboard-detail-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Next up is another layout. Just a silly photo Avery and I took one day in the car when we were waiting for Cecily to arrive.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2gGWc08fRquthOgAlTVmIpz0xRUWiJ8Dcu3t-DPIPFzhuhp9R9Bfxcm4LVnxDLrW4fhzn7lR_NMoWzu085K3uAaNq7g1d5I1_c6pu2Z0AoNwnyb55DSfpLka7c9Tn56V89-qGYJtse-U/s1600/youandme-full-900px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2gGWc08fRquthOgAlTVmIpz0xRUWiJ8Dcu3t-DPIPFzhuhp9R9Bfxcm4LVnxDLrW4fhzn7lR_NMoWzu085K3uAaNq7g1d5I1_c6pu2Z0AoNwnyb55DSfpLka7c9Tn56V89-qGYJtse-U/s320/youandme-full-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
One of the things I loved about working with this kit is that it really works with any photos you want to use. You don't have to make them all about games! And here you'll see another bit of chalk paper that I doodled some arrows onto. (I'm not much of a doodler, but I can handle arrows!)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixxbw45E9SPwwxISCKrrrazepu_1Jg0Z8c5F3kpehgTV-3fobVFqzreSZt4N8VxfESdME-mHtRMnkl6GqrhnpInNiJBokjsYL71GC_JdY7tqtYqnT7F70xMSx3t1lVvhbYSZd4Btzx0Bo/s1600/youandme-det2-900px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixxbw45E9SPwwxISCKrrrazepu_1Jg0Z8c5F3kpehgTV-3fobVFqzreSZt4N8VxfESdME-mHtRMnkl6GqrhnpInNiJBokjsYL71GC_JdY7tqtYqnT7F70xMSx3t1lVvhbYSZd4Btzx0Bo/s320/youandme-det2-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
There's some really cool foil tape that I punched the flower shapes out of. Fun to play with! And shiny, too!<br />

<br />
Finally, here's my bonus project. I wanted to do something fun with the deck of cards in the kit. As I was looking at the box, I thought "Hey, I could make this box into a book cover and use the cards as the pages!" So it became a little bit of a personal challenge to see if I could really do it, but it actually worked pretty well.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBESPhW-5kT6zIxKi-6YQJk26YsDf97JH9y4ad5YUCiJRCH9pbyRUy8ksFw0OEo7vRpG9akG4wrYt0Yax81f0bGPXPMFX-wuApwwVI1fPa6ky2DDwh57POICeqZrphWbFgYGJX3QdlGpI/s1600/cardminibook-900px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBESPhW-5kT6zIxKi-6YQJk26YsDf97JH9y4ad5YUCiJRCH9pbyRUy8ksFw0OEo7vRpG9akG4wrYt0Yax81f0bGPXPMFX-wuApwwVI1fPa6ky2DDwh57POICeqZrphWbFgYGJX3QdlGpI/s320/cardminibook-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Since it was a package of "Bicycle" cards (and also because of the red, white and blue color scheme), I decided to use photos of my kids riding their bikes in the 4th of July Parade. See, I'm tricky like that!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivy_xk4bg43ZEWs3RTlLRQx9IPM-A4mWab0klZM8TqOOUBB5Q2VfrigScak59AggZ3JTg-lcvbcpmivScfdmCXjqmMnKy_73I5KNp3oE0gpQMhYat5Y0IYZJE8excDxwhMXPBBLTtll88/s1600/cardminibook-inside-900px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="208" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivy_xk4bg43ZEWs3RTlLRQx9IPM-A4mWab0klZM8TqOOUBB5Q2VfrigScak59AggZ3JTg-lcvbcpmivScfdmCXjqmMnKy_73I5KNp3oE0gpQMhYat5Y0IYZJE8excDxwhMXPBBLTtll88/s320/cardminibook-inside-900px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used scraps of papers from the kit, along with chalk tape to finish it off. It's one of those projects that looks super-complicated, but it's actually pretty easy to whip out.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Bonus points if you can work out a way to do your favorite thing while you're away. <br />
<br />
Several months ago, I was invited to a craft retreat for this weekend and, not having any idea what stage our renovation would be in, I accepted. Fast forward to August 9. As I was packing my bags to leave my construction-in-progress house, I thought: could we have timed this any better?<br />
<br />
I'm kind of amazed at all the pages/projects I've gotten done, all while enjoying home-cooked meals and a snack table that's overflowing with all the treats I never allow myself to eat. Yeah. It's heaven.<br />
<br />
My count for the weekend:<br />
<ul>
<li>9 scrapbook pages (probably more like 11 by the time I leave today)</li>
<li>1 mini book</li>
<li>1 altered clipboard</li>
</ul>
I won't share my calorie count. Besides, I lost count of that somewhere around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Oops.<br />
<br />
So I'll be sharing photos of the project I created over the next week, but for today, here's another peek of one of my projects with the new Front Porch Kit that will be released on Tuesday.<br />
<br />

Yes, I've been crafting away in my little upstairs nook. Meanwhile, our downstairs is undergoing a pretty major renovation to create a new master bath and updated kitchen. But that's a whole other post...<br />
<br />
Today, I'm super excited to share some upcoming class news!<br />
<br />
First, I've been working with Tracy at <a href="http://www.thelittlebluehouseblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">The Little Blue House</a> to create my own series of classes. It's called Fab Five and each class will feature five brand-new techniques that you can incorporate into your future projects. Of course, we'll be playing with some tools, including the best and latest from <a href="http://www.weronthenet.com/" target="_blank">We R Memory Keepers</a>. But we'll also be creating a great piece to take home with you...from mini books and layouts to cards and home decor.<br />
<br />
Here's a peek at the class that's coming up on <b>August 20</b>:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The class features a 6x8 mini book with a fold-over magnetic closure and spiral binding. <br />

<br />
Inside, there are tons of layers and textures to keep things
interesting. You might even spot a few of the techniques I'm sharing...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdQ5tcLM77jks7a4GuUk4kGBE7vlt4PybCcb3Xl-bHCL2l3efPaYdelvTqnviwoS-dBE6cPAqeu_14lxRwiAyL-DwfzSwl1zySYo7fu_4Da9gX8TqumYBDAUseskGb_MqFjdYvJ3ih6L0/s1600/fabfive-august-inside2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdQ5tcLM77jks7a4GuUk4kGBE7vlt4PybCcb3Xl-bHCL2l3efPaYdelvTqnviwoS-dBE6cPAqeu_14lxRwiAyL-DwfzSwl1zySYo7fu_4Da9gX8TqumYBDAUseskGb_MqFjdYvJ3ih6L0/s320/fabfive-august-inside2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
We'll be using the Beautiful Life line from <a href="http://www.echoparkpaper.com/" target="_blank">Echo Park Paper</a> (so pretty!), along with some goodies from Maya Road, May Arts, Queen and Company and Canvas Corp. This kit is FULL of fun stuff!<br />
<br />
The class is on August 20 at <a href="http://www.thelittlebluehouseblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">The Little Blue House</a>, and registration is open now. Stop by the shop or call <strong><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #000099;">817-431-7930</span></span></strong> to reserve your spot!<br />
<br />
Also, registration for <a href="https://www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/63831/120572/" target="_blank">Stitch Craft Create Live</a> in Charlotte, North Carolina, opened this week! I'm teaching three classes on Oct. 25-26. You can see photos of all of them on the <a href="https://www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/63831/120592/" target="_blank">SCCL website</a>, but here's a peek at my current favorite that I developed just for this event:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUIp3kEBOP0fSpmmZPsp5yB3HOwLl17CAD4ESAAbtnNGR85QXFQjLXCH3ktniuBpSHMGhGqChF93MEqOg6K6okqR9gjm-0l_0skJF_Hgs0WGdaYi56T3GO74dTu3_QOk2pRdCN1SwhlDo/s1600/mixitup-cover2-800px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUIp3kEBOP0fSpmmZPsp5yB3HOwLl17CAD4ESAAbtnNGR85QXFQjLXCH3ktniuBpSHMGhGqChF93MEqOg6K6okqR9gjm-0l_0skJF_Hgs0WGdaYi56T3GO74dTu3_QOk2pRdCN1SwhlDo/s320/mixitup-cover2-800px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The covers are made from cork, which is so easy and fun to work with and adds such great texture. This class features the Photo Freedom Volume 2 collection from <a href="http://www.echoparkpaper.com/" target="_blank">Echo Park Paper</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you're in the Charlotte area (or are up for a little road trip!), check out all the details <a href="https://www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/63831/120572/" target="_blank">here</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope to see you in class!</div>

<br />
After about a month in the new house, the projects were piling up. CHA was only a few months away. New product rolling in. I was forced to get the room unpacked. So I got it to this point...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM2ex-jNqFGJsojdGOm11GGy9hPH7TdmQ3drTdVSXC4v74C-XxXE16QOp2T4LUp3IpOm4rE3xjUCmCloa7TJtLPsO0_I9OFhTNB6zfK0_hiiWHEqPGzVGLf-hZET4Yh_u4hnbc3jOdfnA/s1600/photo(84).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgM2ex-jNqFGJsojdGOm11GGy9hPH7TdmQ3drTdVSXC4v74C-XxXE16QOp2T4LUp3IpOm4rE3xjUCmCloa7TJtLPsO0_I9OFhTNB6zfK0_hiiWHEqPGzVGLf-hZET4Yh_u4hnbc3jOdfnA/s1600/photo(84).JPG" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's now June. Another CHA is looming and I've just finished the first round of convention classes. The room is a nightmare.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge1uZAisRq964qYzo2zaaHpyebH2QP35zUp1L_5ROY3IMTKn8XiU7NihmB2_2koCTpyGAXwzRsNHojPErSUffPMUjPjphJMM-1-tmS1jkOwKBELqRSh3ag0Z55pATZy6-yShVUo-hGOsI/s1600/photo(85).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge1uZAisRq964qYzo2zaaHpyebH2QP35zUp1L_5ROY3IMTKn8XiU7NihmB2_2koCTpyGAXwzRsNHojPErSUffPMUjPjphJMM-1-tmS1jkOwKBELqRSh3ag0Z55pATZy6-yShVUo-hGOsI/s1600/photo(85).JPG" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's time for an intervention. I can't work like this. I need order. I need organization. I need a calmer rug on the floor. (Sheesh, that thing is ugly!)<br />
<br />
And so it's time. Conveniently, my kids are out of town for the next week. Most moms would be ready to let loose and party like there's no tomorrow. Me? I just want my craft room clean and organized.<br />
<br />
Yeah, I'm crazy like that.<br />
<br />Robyn Schaubhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00011368456714835633noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8458650552886550679.post-79634767432568859442013-06-07T18:27:00.002-05:002013-06-07T18:27:24.143-05:00It's all about the detailsWell, I did it again. I created a whole slew of classes that are way more complicated than I originally intended for them to be. Conveniently, I had this "epiphany" last night, less than 12 hours before I was set to teach the first class.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHq8nrSPAO4DBjiNL-urZmcreX6_30OnjZsKN3fOoF84qXpoRpv8aXpwa0kG5Jb2GEYRwzNADcQ4gf2y4VAW0r9Ko0nFRx14ZspqflGcxXhj8zyowRj2kibaNQFQkbHptMYpCORjrmSkU/s1600/everydayhappiness-robynschaub-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHq8nrSPAO4DBjiNL-urZmcreX6_30OnjZsKN3fOoF84qXpoRpv8aXpwa0kG5Jb2GEYRwzNADcQ4gf2y4VAW0r9Ko0nFRx14ZspqflGcxXhj8zyowRj2kibaNQFQkbHptMYpCORjrmSkU/s320/everydayhappiness-robynschaub-2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I got to the classroom an hour early, determined to somehow make up for my overly ambitious class-creating by making sure everything was perfectly in line. And it was. For the first class...<br />
<br />
In the end, everything turned out okay. In fact, it was better than okay. Verging on awesome.<br />
<br />
Partly because I had 60 amazing (AMAZING!) students who appreciated all the stupidly complex details I put into the projects and executed them to a tee! And also because I had two freaking amazing (volunteer) assistants who rocked my world, working their butts off to help every single student get every single one of those crazy details into their project. Thank you Barb and Judy!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkUbctB0apDOUpv4dx9hTQd5DE8H65EgAvAf9bFIkL-RbkZchV97ZEbz9NCb6qpeV8onE_y9tZBDkBE04kI4ONf7Uq94JJF34dOqO9hNc9UxhAX5cSwVtqehTlVAagR0a_a6T7aS3qb34/s1600/starburst.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkUbctB0apDOUpv4dx9hTQd5DE8H65EgAvAf9bFIkL-RbkZchV97ZEbz9NCb6qpeV8onE_y9tZBDkBE04kI4ONf7Uq94JJF34dOqO9hNc9UxhAX5cSwVtqehTlVAagR0a_a6T7aS3qb34/s320/starburst.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Today's experience reinforced one central point: I love teaching. I really, really love it. It fills me up with all kinds of happy.<br />
<br />
So there will be more teaching, and more projects that are probably more ambitious than they should be. But that's just who I am. I don't do simple.<br />
<br />
And hopefully -- fingers crossed -- I will see some familiar faces in future classes. In addition to Stitch Craft Create in Charlotte, I'm working on a few opportunities to teach in the DFW area.<br />
<br />
Stay tuned...I will be posting future classes here and on my Facebook page.<br />
<br />
In the meantime, now that I'm done making kits for my classes (did I mention they were crazy complicated?), maybe I'll have some time to post some actual work on this blog. We can only hope.<br />

I blame it on having kids. Pregnancy and childbirth have been scientifically linked to the loss of brain cells. Really!<br />
<br />
Aaaaanyway...<br />
<br />
These are the three layouts I created with the <a href="http://www.thelittlebluehouseonline.com/saycheese.html" target="_blank">Say Cheese kit</a> from The Little Blue House. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq_rowgANeUmFZ7Fpx60I_QQGBetMeupY05yY30iqz3rbmpe51L1pv1_DAN_SRxtB3K1RiMh8zUZUYGoKieHd5HxcRPs2Qk_Yt-cVyEZpt3zFj8cOGnlbM7IcEgjGe9d0BNEydKWIWCG8/s1600/sofab-800px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq_rowgANeUmFZ7Fpx60I_QQGBetMeupY05yY30iqz3rbmpe51L1pv1_DAN_SRxtB3K1RiMh8zUZUYGoKieHd5HxcRPs2Qk_Yt-cVyEZpt3zFj8cOGnlbM7IcEgjGe9d0BNEydKWIWCG8/s1600/sofab-800px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the plastic rings in the kits as masks and sprayed over them with Maya Mist to create the background. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBWZhGrCG8kUUj9tCBRxd5Dc4CcVXTGH-e3_2v471oAz4MHn6f_OpqhDRW_iJGNFeEZsgIOdphQpTjBQQU787aoFRwz57DGT0NLYp095w9dOJ2bLNXwBNNgAnwWJgSBeFJNFa7d6j9EGE/s1600/goodstuff-detail-700px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBWZhGrCG8kUUj9tCBRxd5Dc4CcVXTGH-e3_2v471oAz4MHn6f_OpqhDRW_iJGNFeEZsgIOdphQpTjBQQU787aoFRwz57DGT0NLYp095w9dOJ2bLNXwBNNgAnwWJgSBeFJNFa7d6j9EGE/s1600/goodstuff-detail-700px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
See the wooden camera piece? I created that patina effect by first misting it green and then pressing it onto a black stamp pad.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Fun and quick layout using the Sn@p collection from Simple Stories and layering my Instagram photos onto the printed frames. <br />
<br />

<br />
These Maya Road banner pieces were fun to layer with papers and fabric.<br />

<br />
I struggled with this one a bit because the "Say Cheese" title was originally a deep golden yellow and it just wasn't working for me. So I misted over it with blue to get more of a turquoise color. It was a "Make It Work Moment" in my craft room.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjONF45an4Ox3jSbeO7Xie9jolFA7dYCMcTuWtJ36JuJGWK-XQEPDiT83s7cFtFTWQ0PpBlcv3kzvIAQFBS2N4fT_YVdo3jeAhb7lcmu2uTcXqYUcfvvHlj-udMXI73z-Oak0c2qENVno4/s1600/saycheese-800px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjONF45an4Ox3jSbeO7Xie9jolFA7dYCMcTuWtJ36JuJGWK-XQEPDiT83s7cFtFTWQ0PpBlcv3kzvIAQFBS2N4fT_YVdo3jeAhb7lcmu2uTcXqYUcfvvHlj-udMXI73z-Oak0c2qENVno4/s1600/saycheese-800px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /> </a></div>
<br />
<br />
I've been playing with paint droplets lately. The trick is to dilute the black acrylic with a tiny bit of water to get a nice fat drop. I haven't mastered it yet, but I'm getting better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpHLgwiPHkT-l2xvktEzzQIa2u3eV6s27IOH32KL0zAPLkeg4yZTx_TF5Cmscpk6ahbA0nZDki1mwGmjx3P9hC2e6MVM1BgvrhHXFecuWNH_dniDo5WlKbpYtjazxOnSGqd_L_wH6VfdA/s1600/saycheese-detail-800px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpHLgwiPHkT-l2xvktEzzQIa2u3eV6s27IOH32KL0zAPLkeg4yZTx_TF5Cmscpk6ahbA0nZDki1mwGmjx3P9hC2e6MVM1BgvrhHXFecuWNH_dniDo5WlKbpYtjazxOnSGqd_L_wH6VfdA/s1600/saycheese-detail-800px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>

I had some ribbon scraps left over, so I stapled them around the paper clip.<br />

<br />
<br />
I seriously thought I'd posted these, but no. Never happened. Sorry about that. Better late than never, I guess.<br />
<br />
Have a great weekend!Robyn Schaubhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00011368456714835633noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8458650552886550679.post-28296172773010098762013-04-05T13:38:00.000-05:002013-04-05T13:39:39.280-05:00Life documentedSometimes I look at the growing collection of scrapbooks on my shelf (and the growing stack of pages waiting to be put into said scrapbooks), and I think: why do I keep making these things?<br />
<br />
Well, (a) it's fun! It's my little creative blast of energy after a long week of delivering the mass emails and corporate-sounding videos that make my work customers happy.<br />
<br />
But the more visionary answer is (b) I'm capturing little moments in our lives that are fun to look back on. Because they go WAY too fast!<br />
<br />
Case in point: I made this layout for the CHA show back in January, using the <a href="http://www.weronthenet.com/For_The_Record" target="_blank">For The Record</a> collection from We R Memory Keepers. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDfGsgp4HyjqiigEtFOzN9GiDCs36_JD-qR1SSZWTUijWwg-r6aPn9bTlksMcRI5LQr1BjaOHFoIynlewPBrOcO8FB5TMqF-aF1TnxtJzgBH_AVvHeUbiAQuTMsIZ4i-vXr6u-X_qu6mM/s1600/lifedocumented-800px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDfGsgp4HyjqiigEtFOzN9GiDCs36_JD-qR1SSZWTUijWwg-r6aPn9bTlksMcRI5LQr1BjaOHFoIynlewPBrOcO8FB5TMqF-aF1TnxtJzgBH_AVvHeUbiAQuTMsIZ4i-vXr6u-X_qu6mM/s1600/lifedocumented-800px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I listed out the likes/dislikes of each member of our family.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRYOeRas2tQqGrnCsx_7g5s7Mxx7HyuQD144bkxLYYSCgvRRrRqyzLVLPu2pEhphY-_lUuKdIGN7A19yfn1hEnSB9j06BMd2AMn-X6nVJ8fKVA-wHbxECnvsYq7RsYe8voRifQRZn16Mo/s1600/fortherecord-det1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRYOeRas2tQqGrnCsx_7g5s7Mxx7HyuQD144bkxLYYSCgvRRrRqyzLVLPu2pEhphY-_lUuKdIGN7A19yfn1hEnSB9j06BMd2AMn-X6nVJ8fKVA-wHbxECnvsYq7RsYe8voRifQRZn16Mo/s1600/fortherecord-det1.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
So my list hasn't changed, but Avery now thinks Webkins are "so yesterday." <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDyxiaFK_OPTzrmTW59TrlqaW8KefnP2HvsdIcC86I4qSGA4cdZG7bmwaBs5F4hSQqn6ZX89M3FFh2FBkCe5CrDHHG-D0Z0rYVKWYlEbIm0qB5BggPG1Ts_4x35lUhTevBnG9KJ4ogoK4/s1600/fortherecord-det2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDyxiaFK_OPTzrmTW59TrlqaW8KefnP2HvsdIcC86I4qSGA4cdZG7bmwaBs5F4hSQqn6ZX89M3FFh2FBkCe5CrDHHG-D0Z0rYVKWYlEbIm0qB5BggPG1Ts_4x35lUhTevBnG9KJ4ogoK4/s1600/fortherecord-det2.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And Cecily is done with Gap. Apparently Old Navy is where the cool kids are shopping now. Guess I missed the memo. <br />
<br />
Thank goodness I captured these important, yet fleeting, moments of "likes." Three months later and this page is completely out-of-date.<br />
<br />
<br />
Oh, and in case you're wondering how I made that cool notched punch at the top of each tag, <a href="http://www.weronthenet.com/" target="_blank">We R Memory Keepers</a> has a punch for that now. It's called the <a href="http://www.weronthenet.com/Power_Punch" target="_blank">Euro Hook Power Punch</a> and it's shipping now.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

I have a few spring-themed projects to share from the We R Memory Keepers Simply Spring collection.<br />
<br />
This is a Cinch book I made to hold Easter photos. I love using the binding spirals with the Cinch -- so easy to get this really professional looking binding!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc12t0_5Rt97Jao70qRCjp654795DoAl45iIJ1-CHQc7KUd7mR7h-jw_vxEgEmC9eOHbiIUUyaqmRIkthe0dhYTlxg629MRc9FUzTRbMzVr8ha8MwmheVoa40MvF-iTHDpyCVrrM0fGf8/s1600/springflingsbook.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc12t0_5Rt97Jao70qRCjp654795DoAl45iIJ1-CHQc7KUd7mR7h-jw_vxEgEmC9eOHbiIUUyaqmRIkthe0dhYTlxg629MRc9FUzTRbMzVr8ha8MwmheVoa40MvF-iTHDpyCVrrM0fGf8/s1600/springflingsbook.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
Next, a couple of layouts I created using WRMK's awesome punches. This one uses the Classic Wreath Lucky 8 punch. I also punched the journaling spot center out of the frame so I could use it for the photo.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTKCWDmLusiHF3e8p_Z6xb3f2up7BIyIOBwQdXlPjF3cqO0KBCRacdbvrKSjFCbJFNVwrAxwwb2LiuJoBBeTnaSUWeO8LMXuDR2U2Wu2n0Nonhhtdym-DHwrGeaUL9cpYb8RSb2eBTNsg/s1600/onespringdaylayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTKCWDmLusiHF3e8p_Z6xb3f2up7BIyIOBwQdXlPjF3cqO0KBCRacdbvrKSjFCbJFNVwrAxwwb2LiuJoBBeTnaSUWeO8LMXuDR2U2Wu2n0Nonhhtdym-DHwrGeaUL9cpYb8RSb2eBTNsg/s1600/onespringdaylayout.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This layout features the Doily 2-Edge Punch, which they debuted on HSN in February. The cool thing about this punch is you can do a circle, oval, border, or even just punch one corner, as I did here. I backed it with a patterned background paper for extra pop.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq1IQC-ouHGmKrd_HsUO95jGcKdwsRMRc2CIW-4bqhDM_55L-Flb2yIGNnGFGToWyoXZ6veBQdk2u0p__cMHrW0KJm_6obaNn3FQ7OGnwBtgl5ugQU5XppkEi9znjjmtsnPPAtfHGOLFQ/s1600/555844_10151274324471714_1064510876_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq1IQC-ouHGmKrd_HsUO95jGcKdwsRMRc2CIW-4bqhDM_55L-Flb2yIGNnGFGToWyoXZ6veBQdk2u0p__cMHrW0KJm_6obaNn3FQ7OGnwBtgl5ugQU5XppkEi9znjjmtsnPPAtfHGOLFQ/s1600/555844_10151274324471714_1064510876_n.jpg" height="320" width="319" /></a></div>
<br />
I altered this round gift box by making a 3-D flower to go on top. I just punched some circles, pleated them at one end to form the leaves and layered in a circle to get this effect. I finished it off with some ribbon and chipboard tags.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu0zQsw1LR6qrQGM2HEss8WDDjF2m8fkvhwwx6acR1QKW-GL_ivLwqHemec0F9SBUEg-7LzxZbHeN64Gabz5EBNCISlr8Dhq4lV4W_LLxNoJjhsrsVKiEP0OjUdGIVEWW3GYwbRbxFOM4/s1600/SS_AlteredProject2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu0zQsw1LR6qrQGM2HEss8WDDjF2m8fkvhwwx6acR1QKW-GL_ivLwqHemec0F9SBUEg-7LzxZbHeN64Gabz5EBNCISlr8Dhq4lV4W_LLxNoJjhsrsVKiEP0OjUdGIVEWW3GYwbRbxFOM4/s1600/SS_AlteredProject2.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
And finally, a cute Easter card that shows how all these beautiful patterns can be mixed together. I used a Kraft base to keep the background neutral, then went crazy playing with all the colors. It's a bit hard to see, but I used the Sew Easy tool to create the looped stitches along the left side. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtLCUpLYORU6KJuKHflqRC4eLgzbQIRTquSEEFzqY6joX2ft6fDipw3Xs7mC17iDDmNo2sKA6BuPVb0jX4AHYXjX5KWG5MCOW_lGWB7oypraCDG0kDH-2dAfMvVD7HDeIT9FVax5hY538/s1600/SS_Card1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtLCUpLYORU6KJuKHflqRC4eLgzbQIRTquSEEFzqY6joX2ft6fDipw3Xs7mC17iDDmNo2sKA6BuPVb0jX4AHYXjX5KWG5MCOW_lGWB7oypraCDG0kDH-2dAfMvVD7HDeIT9FVax5hY538/s1600/SS_Card1.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful Easter weekend!<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Happy Friday! It's Front Porch Friday at <a href="http://www.thelittlebluehouseblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">The Little Blue House</a>, which
means I get to share one of the projects I created with the Say Cheese
kit for this month.<br />
<br />
In this kit were two pocket
folders, and I quickly got out my scissors and started cutting into
them. I cut them long ways in half and unglued the pockets to create
this mini book.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYxjQE_56iF7uWFqOdX0feXGxUY96oZCwTiLwdI9B4suxIpeSrqeGlaE-cBHOe5ZCyaEQP_N_4R0Huoe4T-GWJ6i6uAuQ47neu_bbHJdAdCWP7tksr0hY_m5EM-xLz1EEbLrzVrteqEOw/s1600/ohsnap-cover-800px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYxjQE_56iF7uWFqOdX0feXGxUY96oZCwTiLwdI9B4suxIpeSrqeGlaE-cBHOe5ZCyaEQP_N_4R0Huoe4T-GWJ6i6uAuQ47neu_bbHJdAdCWP7tksr0hY_m5EM-xLz1EEbLrzVrteqEOw/s1600/ohsnap-cover-800px.jpg" height="298" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I covered the outer folder with the yellow chevron fabric, just like a fancy journal.<br />
<br />
Then I used the wide ribbon to cover the seam and wound black cord around the various folders, inside and out, to secure the pages to the inside of the book.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUAGwmaJxQ5YL3ZbFqGKTevOg6oH7hpLosYjYelpp4VH6QI5S5bA1yXrCwk09TDWzTQlsqugK8P-EXG5R2j4TnQBLAYs8R30BaaT5Xeqq2tGs0UJaY9VYo7RZaU_96AtExPi2MwPxGvAQ/s1600/ohsnap-binding-800px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUAGwmaJxQ5YL3ZbFqGKTevOg6oH7hpLosYjYelpp4VH6QI5S5bA1yXrCwk09TDWzTQlsqugK8P-EXG5R2j4TnQBLAYs8R30BaaT5Xeqq2tGs0UJaY9VYo7RZaU_96AtExPi2MwPxGvAQ/s1600/ohsnap-binding-800px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I embellished the cover by painting the chipboard camera black and creating a pleated fabric flower to put behind it. I finished it off with a button and the "Oh Snap" speech bubble that I cut from the patterned paper.<br />
<br />

<br />
The inside is fairly plain, just waiting for me to add some of my favorite Instagram photos. I used the Simple Stories papers to stay with the photo theme and still stay true to the pocket folder style. <br />
<br />

<br />

<br />
But there is one glimmer of happiness on this particular Monday. <br />
<br />
ONLY ONE MORE DAY TO THE BIG REVEAL OF:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0pbamr6RmoQ5dTsbvHEpr2Dr9aQ1kNwwgO5lR7LTVjwdxrHiVGkcnEt5fsBsiH0PGwe42mkJ5oEFiLjme3ycIoAKSr08KnXrtYtH2BVZ3n-LRrdL5bSffysRJsArGoHB58GEgkzOxIrM/s1600/Say-Chesse!-FPK.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0pbamr6RmoQ5dTsbvHEpr2Dr9aQ1kNwwgO5lR7LTVjwdxrHiVGkcnEt5fsBsiH0PGwe42mkJ5oEFiLjme3ycIoAKSr08KnXrtYtH2BVZ3n-LRrdL5bSffysRJsArGoHB58GEgkzOxIrM/s1600/Say-Chesse!-FPK.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
It's such a fun kit, and every time I look at the projects I made with it, I just feel happy. Even on a Monday. <br />
<br />
How about a little sneak? <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDcbLtC9jaDniEMvxVC13RE6-rW0PenmNUpYShB-A9kwLqIKzTevVVsL-Gekkt-YqcpKvZrHbWp7JCYe9vpXu5OUEftOCUQye3-gvHxXK8fpWZMD2a0vmzI1MmXzQ7RISESk8y-W6B66Q/s1600/saycheese-detail2-800px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDcbLtC9jaDniEMvxVC13RE6-rW0PenmNUpYShB-A9kwLqIKzTevVVsL-Gekkt-YqcpKvZrHbWp7JCYe9vpXu5OUEftOCUQye3-gvHxXK8fpWZMD2a0vmzI1MmXzQ7RISESk8y-W6B66Q/s320/saycheese-detail2-800px.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And for those who hate Mondays as much as me, how about I throw in an extra bit of sunshine in the form of an extra sneak! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
Tracy has done an amazing job (as always) putting together a kit that inspires me to go a little outside of my comfort zone and play with supplies I might not normally tackle. Each time I open one of her boxes, I'm filled with a mix of anticipation and -- okay, I admit it -- fear(!) because I know that she always throws in a little bit of a curve ball. But I always end up loving what I create. <br />
<br />
I can't share all the projects just yet, but here's my first sneak peek:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I can't wait to share more. In the meantime, please visit the other design team members' blogs for additional peeks:<br />

Happy Valentine's Day! Whether or not you celebrate this holiday, you can't help but be amazed at all the ways people express their love on this day. Flowers, chocolates, singing telegrams...the list goes on and on.<br />
<br />
As for me, I'm hoping for something sweet and a few more hugs than
normal. And maybe, just maybe, the ability to sneak away from work for
a few hours to attend the classroom parties at the girls' school. Something about kids exchanging valentines makes me giddy.<br />
<br />
In the spirit of the day, I'll share with you a whole slew of projects I created with the Crazy for You collection from We R Memory Keepers. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiWXpRd3cgCtFdMlNwCLg8mCbtTafcl79c9nR8KLbHlqbneOiLR1q9TNnT8LCT6Ujnh306heARwKKXTigv-dKeikq8m4G5wGUEGuqmNFaRfXLI8jvNI3WvHvTO9tjtBgGIVjCpWSxWOsA/s1600/Crazy-For-You-Layout-3_lrg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiWXpRd3cgCtFdMlNwCLg8mCbtTafcl79c9nR8KLbHlqbneOiLR1q9TNnT8LCT6Ujnh306heARwKKXTigv-dKeikq8m4G5wGUEGuqmNFaRfXLI8jvNI3WvHvTO9tjtBgGIVjCpWSxWOsA/s1600/Crazy-For-You-Layout-3_lrg.jpg" height="320" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I fell in love (literally!) with this collection the minute I got it because of the rich pinks and reds. But then I saw the black chevron paper and my heart skipped a beat. </div>

Tip: layer some different sizes of die-cut shapes with a strip of
adhesive down the center only, then fold the sides up a bit to create
this pop-up effect. Great on a card or layout!<br />

How will you be celebrating the love(s) of your life today?Robyn Schaubhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00011368456714835633noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8458650552886550679.post-66625401249121095062013-02-12T05:00:00.000-06:002013-02-12T05:00:12.529-06:00Just playing with paper...One of the things I love (and hate) about the new house is that my scraproom is adjacent to the upstairs TV area. In some ways, it's nice not to be isolated and to have the occasional visit from one of the girls asking "whatcha doin?" (To which I always reply "just playin' with paper" -- I'm not even sure why they ask any more.) But on the downside, I'm having to learn to drown out the sounds of Good Luck Charlie and Jessie. (Lucky me, I think I know all the words to BOTH of those theme songs!)<br />
<br />
So I've been slowly finding some time to catch my breath and take on some projects for fun. Here's a layout I did for the guest designer contest with My Mind's Eye and Gossamer Blue.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUX8r6-hLVS_uOG-hZO_FAmzopzb3rxUuPx-MXUAJdpw7kqLVljh7pzTVs8oT26Ba-mJQZ3OAiLoiMOSNnCODB-VTZ0FT0hqEF-uIdkpTsVrn1UVkV7-YCtzM5sri7Py3uU8ZG_s0BVj4/s1600/dazzled-rschaub-700px.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUX8r6-hLVS_uOG-hZO_FAmzopzb3rxUuPx-MXUAJdpw7kqLVljh7pzTVs8oT26Ba-mJQZ3OAiLoiMOSNnCODB-VTZ0FT0hqEF-uIdkpTsVrn1UVkV7-YCtzM5sri7Py3uU8ZG_s0BVj4/s320/dazzled-rschaub-700px.jpg" width="320" /></a> </div>
Photos were captured in the above-mentioned TV area as my girls were performing their own original show, "The Razzle Dazzle." Yeah, they watch a lot of Disney Channel.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnuWEJ9Gc-tWHjFmLWVI2sRyES30idNPW5g958Y1NYdZacZ1uJXx-YveS0h6em37emle12zdVFShwxMdmb7NPCyxeN_gCgxkC9Mqczq1j3lhyphenhyphen9nAZUkphVTBrunwW9q7rTWvKn2hlWJaQ/s1600/dazzled-det1-700px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnuWEJ9Gc-tWHjFmLWVI2sRyES30idNPW5g958Y1NYdZacZ1uJXx-YveS0h6em37emle12zdVFShwxMdmb7NPCyxeN_gCgxkC9Mqczq1j3lhyphenhyphen9nAZUkphVTBrunwW9q7rTWvKn2hlWJaQ/s320/dazzled-det1-700px.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
My hope is that when they become big Disney Channel stars with their own shows, I'll get my scrap room back. <br />
<br />

If you're not completely sick of hearing about the Craft and Hobby Association Winter show yet, indulge me for one more post, okay?<br />
<br />
Today I'll share some of the projects I made for display at the show. Many of these were made back in November, and it's always fun to see them when they're part of a booth.<br />
<br />
I created this Travel Pinboard for <a href="http://www.ilovetocreate.com/" target="_blank">ILoveToCreate</a>, which is the company behind Tulip Paints and Aleene's Adhesives. I had a lot of fun making this project featuring their Aleene's Fabric Fusion line of adhesives. Full <a href="http://www.ilovetocreate.com/ProjectDetails.aspx?name=Travel+Pinboard" target="_blank">project instructions</a> are now on their website.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWiEcNjc3Z6oiAHJR8mdWhXX1c61aI44VBLDebL43SkOT8Ve8ZNJViTwCdKq17J32sQS-bBEAxVHO2FYvoJlrvFb_iKsgbF76uqbLWBQtJMQwSGfHeCXcmx2j-nYUuwzMfg_DSGmj1Zog/s1600/travels-board.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWiEcNjc3Z6oiAHJR8mdWhXX1c61aI44VBLDebL43SkOT8Ve8ZNJViTwCdKq17J32sQS-bBEAxVHO2FYvoJlrvFb_iKsgbF76uqbLWBQtJMQwSGfHeCXcmx2j-nYUuwzMfg_DSGmj1Zog/s1600/travels-board.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And then there were a bunch of projects for the <a href="http://www.weronthenet.com/" target="_blank">We R Memory Keepers</a> booth. I can't post all of them today, but I'll share a couple.<br />
<br />
Here's one I did with the For the Record collection, which will be shipping in February. This one also uses the new Euro Slot Power Punch by We R:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
These projects feature the Simply Spring line, which is now shipping:<br />

<br />
Yes, it's fun seeing the new products at CHA. But even more fun is seeing the clever and often jawdropping ways they've been used to create displays for the booths.<br />
<br />
A few of my favorites:<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Maya Road</b><br />

<br />
<b>Maya Road (again)</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOU9xez0Dzo7DdKmSyWsSISwZiw4E0nGHXS9HhiGJJxXZSZDQKx3XZshbeho01UTUPDOBrCMlZZjTsHPESrk710a-FlWvEJD5Qeu28ENQvKEsoowxxHFCm6WmIfh4QGo3geqOqUTk3Juk/s1600/butterfly.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOU9xez0Dzo7DdKmSyWsSISwZiw4E0nGHXS9HhiGJJxXZSZDQKx3XZshbeho01UTUPDOBrCMlZZjTsHPESrk710a-FlWvEJD5Qeu28ENQvKEsoowxxHFCm6WmIfh4QGo3geqOqUTk3Juk/s1600/butterfly.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
This is a chipboard butterfly album, but the designer created a box for it by adding bingo pieces and mini rulers to make the frame. Genius!<br />
<br />
<b>Bottlecaps</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I could. not. stop. looking at this amazing wall art created with colored bottlecaps. I want this on my wall! <br />
<br />

<br />

Crocheted flower using hemp cord -- a little stiffer than yarn and comes in a huge variety of colors. If only I could crochet.<br />
<br />
Check back on Friday for my last CHA post...a wrap-up of projects, classes and other fun stuff. See you then!<br />

Reality is so cruel.<br />
<br />
But back to the trip...it was fabulous in EVERY way: oohing and aahing over all the great new products coming out, meeting the amazing minds behind all those products, trying new techniques, learning lots and, best of all, giggling all night long with sweet friends who are just as crazy as me.<br />
<br />
I'll be devoting the rest of the week to posts about things I saw and did at the show, and today's post will showcase my favorite products and collections:<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Maya Road Wood Embellishments</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8S7dspoG8q3w507g07msxjvsqXfZtxMkK1Dm5rQompIvWpPGG_m4OSnj0MbEXUv9V0rbSdVOoKsF_m-KzG8_MFMwCL7o84nG6a83R074BvO5icE0cYT1rRuSK0gilZ2B55taeTnW4gIc/s1600/maya-road.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8S7dspoG8q3w507g07msxjvsqXfZtxMkK1Dm5rQompIvWpPGG_m4OSnj0MbEXUv9V0rbSdVOoKsF_m-KzG8_MFMwCL7o84nG6a83R074BvO5icE0cYT1rRuSK0gilZ2B55taeTnW4gIc/s320/maya-road.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I always love Maya Road and, honestly, I could fill up a full blog post with favorites from this company (hmmm, maybe someday...), but these little wood rulers (called Measure Twice Cut Once) and the polaroid frames (You've Been Framed) stole my heart. Come to Mama!<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Sweet Girl Collection by Echo Park </b><br />

<br />
Well, you knew there would be something from Echo Park in here, right? I loved all of their new releases, but the swirly, circle-y paper in this one put it over the top for me. I want to cut that up right now!<br />

I
was so happy to see this booth. I'm kind of a tag-junkie, and I've been
using this company's tags for a while, but they've always come in kits.
I didn't realize all this time I could buy full sets of them on
Scrapbook.com and ACherryOnTop.com, but I'm so glad I know now! (Why
yes, I did already place an order. How did you guess?) <br />

<b>Elle's Studio You & Me</b><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
In addition to all their wonderful tags and titles, Elle's Studio is now doing paper! Yippee! My favorite was the chalkboard-look paper in this line. While I was checking out all the gorgeous releases, I got to meet Elle and she was so kind and friendly. She was handing out little bags of samples, which I can't wait to use. Thanks, Elle!<br />

<b>Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Maggie rocked this collection! The papers are beautiful -- just as you'd expect from anything that says Crate -- but what really stood out were the variety of embellishments. Not just the same old, same old -- adorable bobby pins, mini bows and a whole lotta other fun stuff. Love it!<br />
<br />
<b>Chevron Ribbon by May Arts </b><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZHFiUOEfnvQbQsQ7XAja3a1O7F6FeRghCs9PCAOjiqx5XiDkZ5E3YVvVzEXWV15DdpLcoM7rUp8plBQ8_60YprvKfrIyme2CsxW4m4-YwrWGEjEuWwkhDpyZQB9Xo6qqX4UJ5B0N-_qA/s1600/may+arts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZHFiUOEfnvQbQsQ7XAja3a1O7F6FeRghCs9PCAOjiqx5XiDkZ5E3YVvVzEXWV15DdpLcoM7rUp8plBQ8_60YprvKfrIyme2CsxW4m4-YwrWGEjEuWwkhDpyZQB9Xo6qqX4UJ5B0N-_qA/s320/may+arts.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The chevron ribbon May Arts released last year was (and still is) a staple on my craft table. But this is like Version 2.0 -- vertical chevrons in bright colors and neutrals. I think I need them all. Oh yes.<br />
<br />
<b>Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm Collection</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Really
nice muted primary colors, lots of fun, on-trend patterns, like
chevrons, stripes, florals. But the thing that really got me was the
horse chipboard. My horse-obsessed girl is going to love this!<br />
<br />
<b>We R Memory Keepers 360 Tote </b><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
It's been a long time since a good crafting tote hit the market, and this one combines all the best features: plenty of pockets for organizing tools, zippered compartments on every side, 360-degree rolling wheels for easy maneuvering around all those crop tables and a bright, fun pattern. There's also a matching paper storage tote with accordion files to keep all your pages organized with no bent corners...bonus! <br />
<br />
<b>Jinger Adams Craft Armoire</b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7T8NmTd74YvLdJVawO_p3no606obVTYBMkysdzCFr0sEUU3QsXO-Ge2-HpF_dLsJP1SA5__09JVIq6k0gCmAJfK8_wECgqzAKtxE1mNORxqntB9wbOGbzxoHh472VRG7gMZgeViaYedQ/s1600/jinger_adams_craft_armoire1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7T8NmTd74YvLdJVawO_p3no606obVTYBMkysdzCFr0sEUU3QsXO-Ge2-HpF_dLsJP1SA5__09JVIq6k0gCmAJfK8_wECgqzAKtxE1mNORxqntB9wbOGbzxoHh472VRG7gMZgeViaYedQ/s1600/jinger_adams_craft_armoire1.jpg" width="198" /></a></div>
<br />
Storage-challenged scrappers, this is for you! It hangs over a door and
opens to reveal tons and tons of organization for paper, tools,
embellishments, ribbon...everything you can think of, Jinger has it
covered. The door even has corkboard in the panel so you can pin notes
and ideas. <br />
<br />
Of course, there are lots of other fantastic new things that I'm excited about, but I'll save those for another day and another post.<br />
<br />
Check back tomorrow for a look at the most clever and beautiful displays I saw. Until then...<br />

Suitcase is
packed, itinerary printed, stack of business cards ready to
go...California, here I come!<br />
<br />
<br />
I'm headed to the Craft and Hobby Association Winter Show, also known as
CHA-W (but never prounounced "chaw" -- trust me, that's a rookie
mistake). Some people will tell you that going to CHA is work -- and it does
involve long days of walking, talking, going to workshops, and a little schmoozing.
But for me, it's kind of like going to Disney World...a fun-filled escape to a
wonderland of activities (and people) I love.<br />
<br />
I always have intentions to blog while I'm there, but usually I'm so
tired by the time I get back to my hotel room at night that I just curl
up and fall asleep. Really, I'm going to try to squeak in a post here
and there, but no promises.<br />
<br />
I'll leave you with a few
peeks of samples I did for the <a href="http://www.weronthenet.com/" target="_blank">We R Memory Keepers</a> booth. In addition to some amazing
new paper collections, We R has really outdone themselves this year
with several really awesome new tools and even a set of crafting bags
that I'm pretty excited to get my hands on. If you're at the show, be
sure to check out their booth!<br />
<br />
<br />
This collection is called Simply Spring...isn't it pretty?<br />
<br />

<br />
And this one is For the Record. I love the cool colors and patterns!<br />

<br />
The
tool I'm most excited about? This clever Envelope Punch that creates
matching envelopes for your cards in a variety of sizes:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEPGRgE1aR06503OTOCz4Y1cN27U8FhczaUKCQlPOuNNq1mc3vpahXpNspox6rxhVf3WE_zzWO2tO5A4c4x-3-I9i_XH5MXEAeR5L3bYcNg1EcMHcNFrxYIt0SFoDDDZ6VoI-y7bnTlIk/s1600/307681_10151180729336714_1330551985_n.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEPGRgE1aR06503OTOCz4Y1cN27U8FhczaUKCQlPOuNNq1mc3vpahXpNspox6rxhVf3WE_zzWO2tO5A4c4x-3-I9i_XH5MXEAeR5L3bYcNg1EcMHcNFrxYIt0SFoDDDZ6VoI-y7bnTlIk/s1600/307681_10151180729336714_1330551985_n.png" height="284" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It's
already been named one of the Hot 20 new products by CHA, so I think We
R has a hit on their hands with this one. I'm looking forward to never
having to dig in my drawer for the right-sized envelope.<br />
<br />
How about you? What are you excited to see from CHA?<br />

Sometimes I have to remind myself that they're still just little girls. I don't want them to grow up any faster than they already do. But they want to be Taylor Swift and Bridget Mendler and Selena Gomez. They want to go to fabulous places...wear fabulous clothes...do fabulous things.<br />
<br />
So they act all "mature" in their little girl way.<br />
<br />
The camera is very good at capturing this. Too good, really. Because I end up with photos of a 6-year-old that make her look like a 16-year-old. <br />
<br />
<br />

Not at all what I'm going for, but it's kind of fun to see a glimpse of the young lady she will be someday. I decided to just embrace the too-old-looking photo. Just this once. <br />
