A few more sneaks...

I hate Mondays. Seriously. Hate them.

But there is one glimmer of happiness on this particular Monday.

It's such a fun kit, and every time I look at the projects I made with it, I just feel happy. Even on a Monday.

It's that time again

I'm so excited to share that there is a brand new Front Porch Kit being released on Tuesday, March 5th!

Tracy has done an amazing job (as always) putting together a kit that inspires me to go a little outside of my comfort zone and play with supplies I might not normally tackle. Each time I open one of her boxes, I'm filled with a mix of anticipation and -- okay, I admit it -- fear(!) because I know that she always throws in a little bit of a curve ball. But I always end up loving what I create.

Lucky in Love

Happy Valentine's Day! Whether or not you celebrate this holiday, you can't help but be amazed at all the ways people express their love on this day. Flowers, chocolates, singing telegrams...the list goes on and on.

As for me, I'm hoping for something sweet and a few more hugs than normal. And maybe, just maybe, the ability to sneak away from work for a few hours to attend the classroom parties at the girls' school. Something about kids exchanging valentines makes me giddy.

In the spirit of the day, I'll share with you a whole slew of projects I created with the Crazy for You collection from We R Memory Keepers.

 

I fell in love (literally!) with this collection the minute I got it because of the rich pinks and reds. But then I saw the black chevron paper and my heart skipped a beat.

 

Tip: layer some different sizes of die-cut shapes with a strip of adhesive down the center only, then fold the sides up a bit to create this pop-up effect. Great on a card or layout!

Just playing with paper...

One of the things I love (and hate) about the new house is that my scraproom is adjacent to the upstairs TV area. In some ways, it's nice not to be isolated and to have the occasional visit from one of the girls asking "whatcha doin?" (To which I always reply "just playin' with paper" -- I'm not even sure why they ask any more.) But on the downside, I'm having to learn to drown out the sounds of Good Luck Charlie and Jessie. (Lucky me, I think I know all the words to BOTH of those theme songs!)

So I've been slowly finding some time to catch my breath and take on some projects for fun. Here's a layout I did for the guest designer contest with My Mind's Eye and Gossamer Blue.

Photos were captured in the above-mentioned TV area as my girls were performing their own original show, "The Razzle Dazzle." Yeah, they watch a lot of Disney Channel.

My hope is that when they become big Disney Channel stars with their own shows, I'll get my scrap room back.

New favorite scrappy tool: this Jenni Bowlin quilting star punch. Lots of fun to layer these or just arrange them in a quilt pattern.
