Welcome to the Creepy Crawly Blog Stomp!!

Welcome to Paper Popsicles' second blog hop, our CREEPY, CRAWLY, BLOG STOMP! Today, we hope that as you go around to each of our creative team member blogs, you will find inspiration, some tricks, and perhaps some TREATS!

If you stumbled upon my blog from Jen's Blog -- great!!! You're on the right track! If you stumbled upon my blog first and wish to play along, please start at the Paper Popsicles blog.

Our porch lights are now on! As you move from one blog to the next, you will collect a TREAT (a word). Gather all the treats to make a ghoulish saying and email your phrase to Melissa at melissa@paperpopsicles.com. For your efforts, you will be entered into a RAK drawing to win a fantastic prize—the Loud Talker Monthly Kit!

Please leave a comment on every blog during our stomp...otherwise you might miss out on some other free treats!

And speaking of treats, I have lots of them for you! For starters, I have a yummy RAK for one of my ghoulish blog readers. After all, what's a party without a goody bag? And do I have a goody bag for you! Chocked full of Halloween embellishments from Making Memories, BasicGrey and -- why yes, that IS a Jenni Bowlin mini bingo card!

If you leave a comment on this post, you'll get one entry and if you follow my blog, you'll get an additional entry!

But wait...there's more! Oh yes, it's your lucky day, my blog-stomping friends. I also have a fun Halloween project idea to share...an easy and oh-so-festive Halloween plaque that you can either hang on the wall or display on an easel.

Here's how to make your own:
  1. Buy an unfinished wooden plaque (I got mine at Hobby Lobby for under $2), and paint it with black acrylic paint (two coats).
  2. You'll need at least 5 (or less if they are double-sided) different papers in Halloween colors. The Paper Popsicles "Spooky" kit would get you exactly what you need.
  3. Use a 1 1/4" square punch to punch squares from the different papers.
  4. Arrange your squares on the raised portion of the plaque, spacing them evenly with approximately 1/4" of space around each square. (The raised section of my plaque is approximately 5 3/4" x 8 1/2" and I used 22 squares. Depending on the size of your plaque, you may need more or less than that.)
  5. Use Distress Ink around the edges of each square to give it an aged look.
  6. Using a foam paint brush, coat the back of each square with Mod Podge and adhere the squares into place.
  7. Put an additional coat of Mod Podge all over the top of the plaque (and the sides) to seal it and give it all the same finish.
  8. To create the flower, select two matching or coordinating papers. From one paper, cut 4 strips that measure 3 1/2" by 1/2". From the other paper, cut 4 strips that measure the paper into strips that measure 2" x 3/8". Krinkle the strips a little, then lay them crosswise in an asterisk shape with the long strips forming the bottom layer and the short strips forming the top layer. I added a jewel and some Stickles to the center to give it a little bling.
  9. Add a title and some Halloween die-cuts using pop dots to add some dimension. Then it's ready for your mantle!
Still looking for another treat -- maybe something with letters? The treat on my blog is PAPER POPSICLES!

Now that you have been scared into the season, don’t forget to leave a comment so you'll be entered for all the awesome prizes! Then check this list to make sure you've stomped in all the right places:
