Upsy Daisy!

I consider myself to be pretty good with words. After all, I get paid to write. But I can't really describe the feeling I got when I checked the Upsy Daisy blog (for oh, I don't know.. maybe the 100th time?) and saw this:

I think I had to read it about 50 times before I believed that was my name (and not some other Robyn Schaub from Dallas, Texas) on the list. But I'm pretty sure it's me. At least, I hope so!

I fell in love with Upsy Daisy Designs on my first visit to their website, and the love continued when I started working with some of their products. Here are a few projects I created for the design team call:

Added some i-Rock bling to finish off this card with the Upsy Daisy Vogue papers.

I can't wait to work with more of their products over the next year. I feel so blessed to get to work with manufacturers and products I love as part of my hobby. It's an honor and a privilege, and I enjoy every second of it.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

Ready for another Imaginisce sketch challenge? This month's sketch is by design team member Cindy Stevens, and it's a great one:


I loved the strips of paper behind the photo. So, I dug through all my scraps of "collections past" and realized that a lot of the papers coordinate really well. I ended up using paper from three different collections: Sweet Cheri, Birthday Bash and Cottage Christmas.


Instead of embellishments, I kept it simple and punched different sized circles out of the coordinating papers and hand-drew a few with pencil on the background to create the "bubbles."

October? Really?

I know what it says on the calendar, but I can't help but wonder: is it really October? I guess the (slightly) cooler weather is a reminder, but it's still hard to believe we're a few weeks away from Halloween and only a few months from Christmas. Yikes!

There are some great things about the start of a new month, including three brand-spankin' new sketches by Linda Dias available at Coordinates Collections. And I did a sample of the 1-pager using some supplies from last month's "Preppy Boy" kit.



Really love the Prima bookprint canvas that I used as a "drop-shadow" behind the chipboard title block. And I have a ton of it left-over, so you can bet you'll be seeing it again...soon!


I printed the journaling onto a scrap of the patterned paper so it would match the graph paper background of the other papers.


And now I'm off to enjoy some of this beautiful October weather. Have a great weekend!

Pretty paper

Have I mentioned before that I love paper? Notebook paper, construction paper, scrapbook paper, newspaper, gift wrap...I even prefer coffee cups that are made out of paper (with a cardboard insulated wrapper, please). So I guess it's no surprise that I own way too much of the stuff. And sometimes, when it's particularly pretty, I don't really want to cut it up.

But that's what it's for.

And so, eventually, I find that perfect photo -- that story I really want to tell. And it hits me: I have the PERFECT paper for that!

Then it all starts to come together. The journaling, the title, the embellishments...

And I stand back and think to myself: I am SO glad I saved that paper.

In the category of "silly things Robyn gets excited about"...

Yesterday, I posted this layout (created this weekend with the Echo Park Summertime kit that I purchased on CropChocolate.com) in the gallery at Two Peas in a Bucket:

And this morning, I saw this:

It's my first time to crack the Top Three at 2Peas! And if you're not into scrapbooking, this means nothing to you, but trust me...it's a big deal! Over 400 projects are posted every day, and most of them are AMAZING. So I'm surprised and thrilled to see mine up there in the top three!

So I can now cross that one off the "Scrapbooking Bucket List."
